Appeal Deadlines for DuPage County Townships

Values for 2024 are not currently open for appeal in DuPage County. O’Connor will provide more information once appeal deadlines are available.

Our Coordinated Approach Benefits You

We manage all the details when O’Connor’s team represents your property for appeal. Our research team uses our unique database to acquire the most reliable sales and unequal appraisal data to support a value reduction on your behalf. Additionally, our licensed tax agents collaborate with attorneys and appraisers. We pursue each step necessary to lower your taxes:

  • Mediate with the DuPage County Assessor
  • DuPage County Board of Review (BOR)
  • The Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board (PTAB)

Save Money with Cut My Taxes

Two appeal strategies are employed by O’Connor Property Tax Consultants to assist their clients in saving money.

Strategy #1 – The assessors’ elevated market value estimates will be protested by the property tax consultant. We protest the fact that the assessor’s value estimate exceeds the market value. Approximately 50% of the properties, particularly residences, are overestimated by the assessor in the majority of townships. The assessors aim to achieve a total of 100% of the market value.

Strategy #2 – The unequal valuation of dwellings will be protested by the property tax consultant. An unequal appraisal protest is predicated on the DuPage County Assessor’s ruling that comparable adjacent residences are assessed at a reduced value. Experience has demonstrated that the majority of properties can be documented as unequal appraisals.

Many property owners will believe that the assessor’s value is accurate or is either too high or low, and that there is no advantage to protesting their property taxes. However, this is not the case, over 95% of annual revaluation appeals are expected to be successful.
